'Kansas City Star' Appoints New VP/Advertising

By: E&P Staff The Kansas City Star has appointed Peter Ricker its new vice president of advertising.

Ricker, 49, most recently worked for Philadelphia Newspapers Inc., where he oversaw sales and marketing for The Philadelphia Inquirer and The Philadelphia Daily News.

Before that, he spent nearly 15 years with various Gannett Co. newspapers, including the Indianapolis Star, and served as advertising director for The Idaho Statesman, the Argus Leader of Sioux Falls, S.D., and the Courier News in Bridgewater, N.J.

Ricker replaces Susan Cantrell.
