By: Joe Strupp Talking to reporters outside the courtroom just minutes after his reporter, Judith Miller was led off to jail for refusing to testify in the Valerie Plame case, New York Times Executive Editor Bill Keller said, "Judy Miller has been taken into custody. This is a chilling conclusion to an utterly confounding case?A draconian act of punishing an honorable journalist."
He added that it is "likely to serve future cover-ups of information. Anybody who believes government should be aggressively watched feels a chill up their spine today."
Miller must serve time in the Washington, D.C. jail. She had asked for home confinement.
Abrams, outside standing with Keller, "Judy is an honorable woman adhering to the highest tradition of her profession."
