By: E&P Staff Internationally syndicated newspaper columnist and author Heloise was named the Communicator of Achievement for 2009 by the National Federation of Press Women (NFPW) at its annual communications conference.
Heloise, a 30-year member of the NFPW, gave the opening keynote speech at the 72nd annual conference and conducted a workshop at the event with Heloise Inc. Editorial Director Merry Clark.
The judges called the "Hints from Heloise" column, which was started by Heloise?s late mother in 1959, ?as American as apple pie.? The column, which runs in several hundred newspapers and is distributed by King Features Syndicate, also celebrated its 50th anniversary this year. For the past 25 years, Heloise has also been a contributing editor and columnist for Good Housekeeping magazine.
Heloise is a frequent keynote speaker for noteworthy organizations, trade associations and charity groups, and often appears on network television and radio shows sharing advice. She has published 11 books and hosted a national radio show, as well as produced and recorded syndicated TV and radio vignettes.
