By: E&P Staff King Features Weekly Service has made various changes in its package of more than 75 offerings.
KFWS General Manager David Cohea said color versions of all comics are now available to online customers and that three comics have been added. They include Jack Guinan's "The Closing Bell," which lampoons the world of money and investing, and two King Features Syndicate comics: "They'll Do It Every Time" and "Katzenjammer Kids."
Other KFWS additions include "Weekly Sudoku" by Linda Thistle, two graphics ("Birding Bits" by Cindy Brook and the "Top Ten" list feature by Jim Clarke and Brenda Weaver), and two text features ("Bible Trivia" by Wilson Casey and "Miller's Tales of Misbehavior" by Matthew Miller).
"The changes were prompted by feedback from our recent survey of subscribing editors and publishers," said Cohea.
Due to low reader scores in the past two surveys, four features have been discontinued. They include "Tuning In," "Coupon Cutter," "Papa's Quiz," and "Test Drive."
Also, "A Sporting View" columnist Chris Richcreek is retiring and will be replaced by Mark Vasto.
The Orlando, Fla.-based KFWS has more than 1,300 clients, including weekly, monthly, college, and small-daily newspapers.
