By: E&P Staff King Publishing in Washington, D.C., announced Friday it will combine two of its weekly publications -- Defense Week and Navy News & Undersea Technology -- into one daily called Defense Today.
Publisher and founder Llewellyn King said the new frequency will make the content more applicable for online delivery as well. King Publishing will allow companies and defense organizations to contract out the publication for use on the Internet.
"When I started publishing Defense Week 25 years ago, the weekly frequency was appropriate to the times and to the subject. Now, with things moving so fast, it is important for us to bring the news to our readers daily," King said in a statement.
The company also publishes White House Weekly, The Energy Daily, New Technology Week and Space and Missile Defense. Llewellyn King writes a nationally syndicated column and produces and hosts White House Chronicle, a weekly public affairs program on PBS.
