By: Mike Levi, president and publisher of the Kitsap Sun, has announced he will retire at the end of May.
Levi, 62, has led the daily newspaper for nine years. He told the Sun's staff of his decision at the Bremerton office Tuesday afternoon.
"My experience here has been positive," Levi said. "I've loved working here, I've loved the community."
Levi is a 37-year employee of the Scripps Co., the Sun's owner, and former publisher of The Destin Log in Florida.
The company plans a national search for his successor, said Mark Contreras, senior vice president for the Scripps newspaper division.
