By: E&P Staff Knight Ridder announced today the acquisition of The Messenger, a bi-weekly tabloid distributed in Flower Mound, Texas, a flourishing community between Dallas and Fort Worth. The Messenger is mailed to about 28,500 households. Knight Ridder will up the frequency to a weekly.
The purchase is part of Knight Ridder's ongoing plans to obtain more non-dailies in local markets where it operates traditional papers (Knight Ridder owns the Fort Worth Star-Telegram).
