Knight Ridder Buys Minnesota's 'Employment News'

By: E&P Staff Knight Ridder has acquired The Employment News, a free recruitment publication distributed in Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minn.

S and J Multimedia, which was represented by broker W.B. Grimes & Co., sold the publication to Knight Ridder. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Barbara LaMotte, recruitment advertising sales manager at the Knight Ridder-owned St. Paul Pioneer Press, was named publisher of the Employment News.

Employment News is a weekly distributed to more than 3,800 locations within the Twin Cities. Minnesota Health & Medical Careers was also acquired in the deal.
