KNIGHT RIDDER SELECTS E-COMMERCE PARTNER

KnightRidder.com will partner with StoreRunner Network Inc. to package e-commerce deals for merchants, the companies announced Friday.

San Diego-based StoreRunner helps Web sites package programs and sales initiatives for local and regional merchants. The company offers an online store-building tool.

StoreRunner will also swap content with San Jose, Calif.-based KnightRidder.com's network of regional portals. The program will include wireless shopping initiatives.

The partnership will roll out Wednesday on select Real Cities sites, including BayArea.com, PittsburghFirst.com, and Philly.com.

Partially owned by the CBS Corp., StoreRunner says it has over 2 million products in its database from thousands of retailers.
