By: Wayne Robins Knight Ridder Digital has chosen Legacy.com to drive the obituaries of its online editions in Philadelphia, Miami, and Dallas-Fort Worth.

Based in Evanston, Ill., Legacy.com has specialized in "enhanced" digital obituaries that can contain photos and biographies of, and tributes to, the dearly departed. Knight Ridder's philly.com is up and running with Legacy, which also provides information about local funeral homes, florists, and charities.

Legacy investors include Gannett Co. Inc. and the Tribune Co.
