Kodak Offers Adjustable Screening

By: E&P Staff Kodak now offers Staccato CX and Maxtone CX screening, which enable users to configure Maxtone AM and Staccato FM screens to suit their printing environments.

CX Technology enables users to configure AM and FM screens' highlight, midtone, and shadow dots, providing flexibility to fine tune screens to suit an entire print-production system and fully exploit the capabilities of platesetters, plates and press.

Kodak last year redesigned the Staccato screening engine for Kodak Prinergy workflow system, version 4, and is now releasing user-configurable functionality with Staccato CX screening in version 5.

Staccato and Staccato CX screening enable high-fidelity, consistent presswork that exhibits fine detail without halftone rosettes, moire, grey-level limitations, or abrupt jumps in tone, according to Kodak.
