Kozmo.com, the online shopping site that promises immediate delivery, has added USA TODAY to its list of products that arrive in less than an hour after ordering them online.

Kozmo.com customers in 11 cities can order the Gannett paper through Kozmo's newly launched "Newsstand" category. USA TODAY is the only newspaper currently featured on the newsstand, but numerous magazines are readily available.

Kozmo is promoting its delivery of USA TODAY in connection with the site's breakfast offerings. Kozmo charges 50 cents for the newspaper, but the site requires a minimum purchase of $5 in order for the free delivery to be made. "It's a synergistic item that can be offered with breakfast," said Matt Higgins, spokesman at Kozmo.com. "And breakfast offerings are very popular."

Kozmo wants to add more newspapers to its newsstand and since the launch on Wednesday other newspapers already have called to inquire about the service, Higgins said. "We're looking for papers that are strong in the local markets we serve," he said.

Terms of the deal between Kozmo and USA TODAY were not disclosed, but Higgins said the dot-com is obtaining the paper directly from USA TODAY, not distributors.

New York-based Kozmo.com says it has 300,000 members in the 11 cities it serves, including Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Portland, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Washington, D.C., and New York. The company does not have plans to expand to other cities in the immediate future.
