By: E&P Staff "Ex-Etiquette" is being offered by Knight Ridder/Tribune Information Services.
The weekly Q&A column -- from the Contra Costa Times in Walnut Creek, Calif. -- provides advice to blended families. Questions covered include: How should you respond when you find out that your wife still keeps photos of her first wedding? What do you do if your former spouse badmouths you in front of the kids? How do you cope when your child calls someone else "Mom" or "Dad"?
"Ex-Etiquette" is co-written by Jann Blackstone-Ford, a divorce and stepfamily mediator; and her husband's ex-wife, Sharyl Jupe. The women live around the corner from one another in Discovery Bay, Calif., and share custody of two kids. They co-founded Bonus Families, a nonprofit group that promotes peaceful coexistence between divorced parents and their new families, and co-authored "Ex-Etiquette for Parents: Good Behavior After a Divorce or Separation."
