By: E&P Staff Monica Lozano, publisher of La Opinion in Los Angeles, was named Tuesday to the newly created position of ImpreMedia's senior vice president of newspapers, the big Spanish-language publishing company said.
Lozano will continue as La Opinion publisher.
In her new role, Lozano will be responsible for all aspects of impreMedia's newspaper publications with each publisher reporting to her, the company said. ImpreMedia papers include the New York City daily El Diario La Prensa and the weekly La Raza in Chicago.
She will report to Chairman and CEO John Paton.
"This appointment reflects the rapidly growing multi-platform aspect of our business," Paton said in a statement. "As the Hispanic news and information leader in online and print, it is imperative we maximize the resources and results of each of our platforms while ensuring we leverage all of our strengths across all of our platforms."
