By: E&P Staff The Los Angeles Times Media Group (LATMG) and Valassis, the big marketing services company, announced Tuesday they are adding the Spanish-language total market coverage (TMC) preprint insert program, and shifting delivery from Thursday/Friday to Friday/Saturday.
The program delivers to about 5 million Los Angeles area households through shared mail, and carrier delivery to subscribers to the Los Angeles Times and Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers.
Beginning February 1, Hoy Fin de Semana (FDS) will be delivered to about 500,000 households via the shared mail shopLocal/RedPlum wrap and preprint packages. The package, previously known as ShopWise, will be inserted into Fin De Semana, and converted to Saturday home doorstep delivery aimed at Latino communities.
As part of the new program, Fin De Semana's distribution base will increase to 500,000 from 350,000.
"Joining the engaging content and targeted audience reach of Hoy Fin de Semana with the breadth of the successful Valassis/Los Angeles Times/LANG network will be a great thing for consumers and advertisers," Times Publisher David D. Hiller said in a statement.
In addition, Los Angeles Newspaper Group's (LANG) Daily Breeze will join the program, serving the beach city communities of Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, Torrance and the Palos Verdes Peninsula, among others.
