'L.A. Times,' 'Orange County Register' to Launch Joint Ad Supplement

Posted
By: Joe Strupp The Los Angeles Times and Orange County Register will launch a joint weekly advertising supplement next month to be distributed in both papers on Fridays.

The supplement, OCSaver/Local Values, will be inserted into the Friday editions of the papers that go to subscribers in Orange County beginning Aug. 28, the Times reported.

The supplement will also be distributed in the Register's 25 community newspapers and in The Times' Spanish-language newspaper, Hoy Fin de Semana.

In some areas of the county, homes that do not subscribe to The Times or Register will receive the supplement by mail, the Times reported.

"The combined OCSaver/Local Values distribution program will have access to nearly 1 million Orange County households," Terry Horne, Register publisher, said in a statement.

Eddy Hartenstein, publisher of The Times, said in a story that the project will be "harnessing the unparalleled reach of our distribution systems."
