The Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association is pleased to announce that newspaper executive and digital entrepreneur Larry Kramer has been named keynote speaker of the 2014 America East Media Business and Technology Conference.

As the publisher of USA Today, Kramer is charged with re-inventing the newspaper’s 30-year old franchise. He was the first president of CBS Digital Media and, prior to that, created and sold Marketwatch, one of the premier business news sites on the Internet. Kramer brings with him a strong newspaper background, having served as a reporter and editor for more than 20 years, including the
San Francisco Examiner and The Washington Post.

Kramer, who joined USA Today in May of 2012, will kick off the conference with a keynote Q&A session, during which he will share his thoughts on how traditional media can build a successful business around quality news and information. Under Kramer’s watch, USA Today has grown its circulation to nearly 3 million, including print and app users, and is one of the top 20 news sites in the world. He implemented a major re-design of the logo, newspaper and website, and is focusing energies on creating more USA Today-branded verticals.

Held March 31 to April 2 in Hershey, America East is the largest newspaper show on the East Coast, administered by the PNA and several co-sponsoring associations. The 2014 conference promises to deliver sessions for everyone involved with news media organizations and their multimedia projects. America East focuses on maximizing print profit and generating new digital revenue. The three-day conference will provide practical, executable insights into vital media topics, including strategic perspectives, revenue diversification, growing audience, and technology and operations. With its convenient, central location in Hershey, America East is a cost-effective conference with so much to offer.
