'LAT,' 'Ventura County Star' Team up on TMC Product

By: E&P Staff The Los Angeles Times and the Ventura County Star are partnering in a total market coverage ad insert product reaching East Ventura, Fillmore and Mission Oaks.

"We are pleased to be able to offer this preprint package to our advertisers and our community," George Cogswell, president and publisher of the Ventura County Star, said in a statement.

The late-market product will be distributed under the name "Star Shopper."

"By combining the resources of the Ventura County Star and Los Angeles Times Media Group, we can provide advertisers with targeted late-week coverage and consumers with a single robust preprint package," Scott McKibben, executive vice president, strategic partnerships of the Los Angeles Times, said in a statement.

The Los Angeles Times announced a joint ad supplement partnership with The Orange County Register.

In related news, Valassis said last week it was dropping the Los Angeles Times and instead using direct mail to deliver its Red Plum product.
