By: Lawyers for the owner of Philadelphia's two major daily newspapers are asking a federal Bankruptcy Court judge for more time to file a reorganization plan.
Philadelphia Newspapers LLC, owner of The Philadelphia Inquirer and Philadelphia Daily News, filed a request last week seeking to extend the deadline for the plan from Aug. 31 to Oct. 30.
Company attorneys said the complexity of the plan might require more time.
The judge assigned to the case, Stephen Raslavich, has scheduled a status hearing on the case for Tuesday.
