Ginny Sohn has stepped down as publisher of the 165-year-old Santa Fe New Mexican. Tom Cross, the company’s former controller, will take over the position.

“I’ll miss working with Ginny,” said owner Robin Martin, who announced the change to staff members. “We’ve had a long working relationship, and I appreciate her years of service and her enthusiastic support of the newspaper and the community.”

Sohn, 59, worked at the Santa Fe daily newspaper for 30 years. She was a longtime advertising director and associate publisher before taking the top leadership position at the paper in April 2012.
