LEE ENTERPRISES LAUNCHES RELIEF FUND IN MONTANA

By: Staff reports Proceeds To Benefit Wildfire Victims

Lee Enterprises and five of its daily newspapers in western Montana
have established an emergency relief fund for victims of this summer's
massive wildfires.

The publishing company launched the fund drive with an initial donation
of $50,000. Donations will be sent to the American Red Cross.

Newspapers participating include the Ravalli Republic, Hamilton;
Missoulian, Missoula; Independent Record, Helena; The Montana Standard,
Butte; Billings Gazette; and several dozen weeklies owned by Lee.

Based in Davenport, Iowa, Lee publishes 24 daily newspapers.
