By: (AP) Newspaper publisher Lee Enterprises Inc. said Wednesday its advertising revenue, not including results from Pulitzer Inc., edged up 2.7% to $48.1 million in November over last year.
Lee, which acquired Pulitzer in June, said its total revenue edged up 1.5% to $62.3 million during the month on a same-property basis, which doesn't count acquisitions or divestitures from this year or last year. Including those items, total ad revenue jumped 68%, and total operating revenue rose 63%, mainly because of Pulitzer.
On a same-property basis, retail ad revenue increased 2.5% to $29.1 million in November from last year. Classified ad revenue edged up 0.5 percent to $14.3 million, with a 12.5% gain in employment listings to $4 million and 5.3% gain in real estate listings to $3.1 million, on a same-property basis.
National ad revenue edged up 0.5% to $2.4 million, niche publication revenue increased 11.3% to $963,000, and online ad revenue surged 36.3% to $1.4 million.
Circulation revenue fell 2.5% to $10.2 million.
