By: Staff Reports Memorial Site Offers Online Tributes, Obit Searching
Legacy.com, the online memorial site, announced Monday it will co-brand pages
for newspaper Web sites, offering services and content to its partners.
The site allows users to post online tributes for deceased family members, and
will now provide online newspapers with its ObitFinder search engine and obits
of famous people covered by The Associated Press.
Legacy.com also is planning to provide software that will manage local obituary
content for newspaper Web sites.
Based in Evanston, Ill., the site is already co-branding pages for the Denver
Rocky Mountain News and the Albuquerque (N.M.) Journal.
Other newspapers adding Legacy.com to their sites include Tribune Interactive's
newspaper sites and the Richmond (Va.) Times-Dispatch.
Tribune Co. is an investor in Legacy.com.
