Jeffrey Levine, senior vice president of content for Tribune Co.'s The Hartford (Conn.) Courant and Fox CT, has left the company after his position was eliminated, courant.com reported Sept. 30.

The change was "part of a broader strategy," according to a statement issued that day by Courant Publisher Richard Graziano, who also is general manager of Fox CT and head of parent company CT1 Media, which includes other local media businesses.

"We believe more than ever in the integrated platform model where print, television and online media services are under one roof, providing the best content for our readers and viewers," Graziano said.

Levine, 48, joined CT1 Media in 2009 from Tribune Co.'s Orlando Sentinel and Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel, where he headed online news and marketing. In Hartford, he oversaw the merger of print and television newsgathering, the launch of an afternoon TV news program, and an expansion of online coverage for courant.com and ctnow.com, championing "news that relates directly to the everyday lives of readers and viewers," the Website reported.
