Little Rock Inserts on K&M Titan G3

By: E&P Staff K&M Newspaper Services of Monroe, N.Y., sold its first Titan G3 rotary inserting system with servo motors. Little Rock's Arkansas Democrat-Gazette expanded its distribution center to accommodate a Titan G3, configured with three deliveries.

In dual-delivery mode, the inserter will be able to put nine inserts into one jacket at up to 48,000 copies per hour. In single-delivery mode, it can deliver 21 inserts in one jacket to a single stacker or 20 inserts in one jacket, splitting to two stackers at up to 24,000 copies per hour.

The Little Rock installation also included an Image NT Packaging System on the paper's two Harris 1372 inserters and three K-Track conveyors.

K&M also received orders from The Galveston County (Texas) Daily News (remanufactured 1372 with Image PC Packaging Controls, K-Track conveyor, 2-HL 2000 mini hopper loaders), the Chronicle-Tribune in Marion, Ind. (rebuilt 1372 with Image PC controls, K-Track conveyor, complete bundle-distribution system), the Santa Maria (Calif.) Times (K-Track press conveyor, remanufactured Dynaric NP-2 strapper, rollertop conveyor), The Journal in Martinsburg, W.Va. (bundle-distribution system); and the Sarasota (Fla.) Herald Tribune (three Image NT control systems for Harris 1372 inserters).
