The first day in a new job is never easy. I got my heel stuck in the gap between the elevator and the floor and thought it was over before I reached my office.
Gratefully, it’s been uphill since, thus giving me a chance to introduce myself as the next public editor of The New York Times. It’s a position I am honored to accept.
