By: George Gill, a longtime managing editor for The Courier-Journal has passed away at the age of 75.
Gill died around 6:30 on the evening of April 10. His wife, Kay, said that he had been in poor health in recent years.
Gill started at the newspaper in 1960, and by 1966 had worked his way up to managing editor. He is best known for leading the paper during its sale to the Gannett Co. in 1986. He retired in 1993.
Gill had been living in Oldham County.
