By: E&P Staff Tom Stuckey, the Associated Press' Maryland State House correspondent for 42 years, is retiring this week, according to an article in The Capitol of Annapolis, Md.
Stuckey started working the State House beat in Maryland after only two years at the wire service, in the spring of 1964, and stuck with it since then. "It was something I liked, and I had a knack for it, and always thought it had some importance," Stuckey was quoted as saying in the article. "I think I would probably do the same thing again."
The article went on to quote several prominent politicians and journalists who praised Stuckey's work and his demeanor.
