By: Nekoro Gomes Steve Wlodarczyk, 46, the Wisconsin State Journal copy editor responsible for more than 15 years for print layout and getting issues of the State Journal to readers every morning, died early Wednesday of a brain aneurysm while walking from the newspaper office to his car.
Colleagues at the State Journal remembered Wlodarczyk as a consummate professional on the job and a devoted family man outside of work.
Many staffers recalled fond memories of Wlodarczyk as a diligent copy editor willing to work throughout the night and into the morning on issues of the State Journal.
Wlodarczyk loved classic rock music and was a local booster for the New York Jets and the New York Yankees. He worked on the sports desk before becoming a copy editor.
Originally from Itasca, Ill., Wlodarczyk graduated from Northern Illinois University and came to the State Journal in 1990. Wlodarczyk is survived by his wife of 24 years, Donna, and two sons: Brandon, 19, and Travis, 16.
