Los Angeles Times Media Group Names Exec. VP/Business Services

By: E&P Staff The Los Angeles Times Media Group announced Wednesday that Bill Nagel has been named Executive Vice President/Business Services. The appointment is effective immediately.

In this newly created role, Nagel will be responsible for growing new revenue streams through marketing and sales of the group's print distribution system, call-center operations and production services to other media entities. He will also oversee circulation efforts by the Los Angeles Times.

Times Publisher Eddy Hartenstein said in a statement, "[Bill] brings a wealth of revenue-generating experience and forward thinking to The Times and will partner closely with our advertising, marketing and targeted media departments to identify emerging opportunities to deliver solutions for customers across Southern California."

Nagel most recently Was senior VP/business channels at the San Diego Union-Tribune, where he was in charge of consumer and advertising revenue development. He began his career in 1988 at the Chicago Tribune, where he spent 12 years in sales, circulation, and operations roles.

He succeeds Jack Klunder, executive vice president of circulation and distribution, who is leaving the paper.
