'Luann' Comic About to Turn 20

By: E&P Staff "Luann," the Greg Evans comic that stars a teen girl, turns 20 on March 17.

United Media syndicates the strip -- which combines story lines and humor -- to more than 350 newspapers. "Luann" has also been collected in 20 books since 1985, and a TV version of the comic is in development with Dick Clark Productions.

Last May, Evans won the National Cartoonists Society's Reuben Award as cartoonist of the year. And "Luann" was cited in E&P's November 2004 issue as one of the top features of the year.
