'Lucky Cow' Comic Has a Lucky Winner

By: E&P Staff A reader of The Deseret Morning News in Salt Lake City won the "Lucky Cow" comic's contest seeking the funniest fast-food story.

Susan Birch, the winner, recalled that she and her husband went to a restaurant to pick up three buckets of fried chicken for their extended family (including grandkids). But despite the couple being the only two people in the eatery, they were still asked: "Is this for here or to go?"

The story will become part of Mark Pett's Nov. 11 "Lucky Cow" strip. Birch will receive a signed copy of that comic plus a personalized copy of "Lucky Cow: A Cartoon Collection" (Andrews McMeel, 2005).

Pett's feature is distributed by Universal Press Syndicate.
