By: E&P Staff "Maakies" by self-syndicated cartoonist Tony Millionaire has won the Harvey Award for best syndicated strip or panel.
Other nominees in that category were "Mutts" by Patrick McDonnell of King Features Syndicate, "The Amazing Spider-Man" by Stan Lee and Larry Lieber of King, the on-hiatus "Boondocks" by Aaron McGruder of Universal Press Syndicate, and "The K Chronicles" by the self-syndicated Keith Knight.
Another Harvey honoree was "Little Nemo in Slumberland: So Many Splendid Sundays," a collection of the early-1900s comic. The book won for best domestic reprint project, and also received a special award for excellence in presentation.
Other Harvey winners (the list was linked on Tom Spurgeon's ComicsReporter.com) were in non-newspaper-comic categories.
