Maggie Mulvihill of 'Boston Herald' Named Nieman Fellow

By: E&P Staff Boston Herald investigative editor Maggie Mulvihill has been appointed to the 67th class of Nieman Fellows at Harvard University. She was one of 13 U.S. journalists and 12 international journalists to be appointed to the prestigious program.

Mulvihill's area of interest will be the role of federal and state courts in barring access to public information and restrictions of press freedom since the September 11, 2001 attacks. Mulvihill has been with The Boston Herald since 1993.

Established in 1938, the Nieman program is the oldest mid-career fellowship for journalists in the world. The fellowships are awarded to working journalists of accomplishment and promise for an academic year of study in any part of the university.
