For 226 years, the Poughkeepsie Journal has been the mid-Hudson Valley’s premier source of news and advertising information. We covered the Constitutional Convention’s Poughkeepsie meeting in 1788. We chronicled the Civil War and the Underground Railroad in the 1860s. And, during World War II, our “local” president, Franklin Delano Roosevelt of Hyde Park, was a hometown important story for Journal readers.
