By: (AP) A man pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges of making a bomb threat that forced the evacuation of the
Los Angeles Times offices.
Frederick B. Cheaves, 31, was charged with one count of making a criminal threat and two counts of making a false bomb threat. He was ordered held on $80,000 bail.
Cheaves, a transient from Florida, was arrested Monday night after allegedly entering the newspaper's parking garage and threatening to detonate a bomb in his backpack.
He was arrested after a several-hour standoff. Police found no bomb.
