By: E&P Staff Managing Editor Inc. has released Integrated Production Suite, version 4.6, its latest product collection for enterprise publishers. Updates in IPS 4.6 provide improved performance and compatibility with the latest versions of design applications.

IPS's Macintosh components, including AdTrac, Mac File Agent and Doc Server, now run natively on the Intel processor, for measurable performance improvements. Minimum operating system to support Mac components is OS X 10.5.5. IPS 4.6 now seamlessly supports Adobe InDesign CS4 and QuarkXPress 8.0 for design and Suitcase Fusion 2 for font management. Other updates include enhanced AdTrac and WebTrac performance.

Used to streamline and distribute all facets of ad and page production in multi-site operations, IPS components work through the IPS Engine, which offers a scalable architecture for one publication or 100.

The IPS Page Director Ad Layout System (ALS) is a complete issue-planning and ad-layout system with issue-management tools, flexible integration with ad booking, built-in dynamic conflict management, full integration with digital ads and the ability to scale to specific publication size and workflow.

IPS AdTrac Ad Tracking offers collaborative ad workflow management with complete ad-production tracking. The WebTrac Web-based ad-tracking client offers AdTrac Manager Client ad-management functionality via a browser.

QuickLink provides editorial user authentication, associates editorial pages with issues and ads from the database, and dynamically updates page content to reflect ad changes in the database. AdView gives advertisers soft proofing via the Web. And with PageView, managers, editors and other authorized staff can check the status of pages in real time.
