Manugraph DGM Sells UV-Capable Press in Saudi Arabia

Posted
By: E&P Staff OKAZ Organization for Press and Publications, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, purchased a DGM 440 four-high with ultraviolet curing and a DGM 1035 jaw folder from Manugraph DGM, Elizabethville, Pa.

Scheduled to ship early next year for addition to an existing Goss Community press, the equipment represents the first MDGM order for four-high towers with UV curing capabilities from the Middle East.

"In a region that prints newspapers with coated-stock paper on all section fronts, this is an important order for MDGM in establishing UV as a more-than-capable alternative to gas drying systems," MDGM International Sales Vice President Ron Ehrhardt said in a statement.

The three-form-roller DGM 440 UV-capable tower replaces a two-form-roller Community four-high with gas dryer. The new tower will print four-color section fronts on glossy stock while the new 1035 folder will fold up to 10 webs from the new tower and existing 25-unit Community press (which Manugraph DGM will refurbish on site). The new equipment also will print one-web commercial signatures for magazines and other publication work.
