Manzi Named Publisher of Boulder (Colo.) 'Daily Camera'

By: E&P Staff Albert Manzi has been named publisher of the Daily Camera in Boulder, Colo., and CEO of the regional newspaper chain Prairie Mountain. Currently Manzi, 48, serves as president and publisher of the Daily Herald in Provo, Utah.

"[Manzi] has succeeded wherever he?s been," Mark Contreras, senior vice president of newspapers at E.W. Scripps, told the Daily Camera. Scripps has a 50% stake in Prairie Mountain; MediaNews Group owns the other 50%. Prairie Mountain consists of 11 newspapers including the Daily Camera.

Manzi replaces Greg Anderson, 47, who is leaving the company. Anderson was with the Daily Camera since 2003. Prior to that he was with the Scripps-owned The Commercial Appeal in Memphis, Tenn. Anderson told the paper he plans to spend time with his family before deciding ?their next steps.?
