By: E&P Staff The Marion (Ind.) Chronicle-Tribune has been sold to Paxton Media Group, the paper?s President and Publisher Juli Metzger announced today.
The Chronicle-Tribune was donated to the Gannett Foundation by Gannett Co. Inc. in May; the Foundation completed the sale to the Paxton Media Group, which is a privately-held newspaper group in Paducah, Ky.
Metzger will be leaving the Chronicle-Tribune, and will be replaced as publisher by Neal Ronquist, the former publisher of The Courier in
Russellville, Ark.
Jay Frizzo, the president of Paxton?s newspaper division, also announced that in approximately 30 to 45 days, printing of the Chronicle-Tribune will be done at the paper?s home. Currently, the paper is printed at the Gannett facility near Indianapolis.
Paxton Media Group owns 30 newspapers in nine states, including several
other Indiana newspapers such as the Wabash Plain Dealer, the Huntington Herald Press, and the Peru Tribune.
