By: E&P Staff Markzware has released an upgrade to its FlightCheck Professional for Macintosh preflighting solution, with full support for Adobe CS4 Creative Suite and QuarkXPress 8.
Unlike other preflight solutions that are plug-ins to native applications, FlightCheck is a stand-alone application, allowing quick and easy establishment of preferences, which identify deal breakers in a workflow. If anything in the document breaks those rules, FlightCheck flags the problem. FlightCheck reviews all document elements (e.g., fonts, colors, images, document setup) in several file types.
Upgrades to FlightCheck Professional from v5.0 and higher are $99. FlightCheck Designer has been discontinued, but users may upgrade to FlightCheck Professional 6.5 for $129. The full version costs $399.
