Marsella to Leave Morris for Ranger Data

By: E&P Staff Tony Marsella has been appointed as president and chief operating officer of Ranger Data Technology, a Royal Oak, Mich.-based company that helps newspapers with classified advertising sales.

Marsella was the corporate vice president for classified advertising at Morris Communications.

"As a recognized leader in newspaper classified advertising for over 25 years, Tony is uniquely qualified for this position," George Willard, chairman and CEO of Ranger Data Technology, said in a statement.

At Morris, Marsella was responsible for the implementation of Ranger Data technology throughout the company.

"Working closely with Morris newspaper executives he not only managed the growth and success of the program at the local papers, but was the beta partner for a corporate management system, and sales center that will have application at many other newspaper groups," Willard said.

According to the news release, the company's Outbound Ranger software helps with the process of renewing expired classified ads for sales reps.
