By: E&P Staff The Enterprise of Brockton, Mass., on Wednesday marked the 125th anniversary of its founding with coverage that included a full-page reproduction of its first front page, printed on Jan. 26, 1880. The daily also offered a 24-page special section recounting its history.
The newspaper will continue to commemorate its 125th anniversary with monthly special sections on the history of Brockton as seen in the pages of the Enterprise. The sections will look at the history of the Brockton Fair, sports, and the area's diverse ethnic communities, among other topics.
Employees celebrated the paper's anniversary with a 30-by-40-inch cake topped with a full-scale reproduction of the 1880 front page.
