Matt Davies Is Latest Editorial Cartoonist to Try Animation

Posted
By: E&P Staff Editorial cartoonist Matt Davies has posted his first political animation. Not surprisingly, it features George W. Bush.

Davies -- who said this summer (see E&P's August 2006 print issue) that animation was in his future -- is with The Journal News of White Plains, N.Y., and Tribune Media Services (TMS).

The former Association of American Editorial Cartoonists president won a 2004 Pulitzer Prize for his work.

Among the other editorial cartoonists doing animation are Walt Handelsman of Newsday in Melville, N.Y., and TMS; Nick Anderson of the Houston Chronicle and Washington Post Writers Group; Mike Shelton (with Jocelyne Leger) of The Orange County (Calif.) Register and King Features Syndicate; and Kevin "KAL" Kallaugher of the Cartoonists & Writers Syndicate/New York Times Syndicate.
