M.C. Investments Buys Two Kentucky Papers

By: E&P Staff M.C. Investments has purchased Sandy Valley Press for an undisclosed sum. W.B. Grimes & Co. brokered the deal.

Sandy Valley Press publishes the twice-weekly Big Sandy News in Louisa, Ky., and the Tri-Rivers Advertiser, which is mailed on Saturday to 28,000 homes. The Big Sandy News was founded in 1885.

"We are excited about the opportunity for new leadership which Chris McGehee will bring to the table," Judge John David Preston, president of Sandy Valley Press, said in a statement, about the head of M.C. Investments.
