McCarthy Named Interim Dean of Nevada J-School

By: E&P Staff The University of Nevada in Reno has appointed Rosemary McCarthy to the position of interim dean, effective July 1. She had resided over internal operations for the Journalism School since last January.

She will temporarily replace Cole Campbell, the Journalism School?s dean who died in a traffic accident last January.

McCarthy has served as the Journalism School?s academic chair since 2005, developing class schedules, teaching assignment, curriculum, and advising students.

In addition, McCarthy is a former executive producer for KNPB, the region?s public broadcasting television station. She holds a master's degree in journalism from the University, and a bachelor?s in English and secondary education from Merrimack College in Massachusetts.
