McClatchy Interactive Adopts Caspio Bridge

Posted
By: E&P Staff Caspio Inc. in Mountain View, Calif., today announced that McClatchy Interactive has adopted Caspio Bridge to deliver more traffic to its Web sites and monetize its database assets.

The nation's third-largest newspaper group is adopting Caspio Bridge as a rapid database- and application-building platform for its Web sites after deployment at five of its large dailies -- The Sacramento Bee, The Miami Herald, The Kansas City Star, The Charlotte Observer, and The Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

"Public databases drive traffic, which in turn drives revenue," Caspio Media Services Vice President David A. Milliron said in a statement.

The Sacramento Bee recently used Caspio Bridge for a database of California state employees' salaries. Compiled by staff writer Phillip Reese, the database has generated more than 6 million hits since its launch.

In addition to searchable databases, McClatchy's sites are using Caspio Bridge to power Miami's online store, to collect user-submitted recipes in Charlotte, and, in Fort Worth, to research political candidates with an interactive voter guide.
