Coloring the News (Encounter Books) continues to be bristlingly controversial among many journalists more than a year after its publication. I may be adding to this civil war by noting that when I start teaching at New York University's Graduate School of Journalism in the fall, one book that will be mandatory reading will be McGowan's.
