RICHMOND, Va. - Media General's Operations and Distribution Solutions Group (O&DS) is pleased to announce a new partnership with Troup County News of La Grange, Ga.
Troup County News, a thrice weekly publication, has joined Media General O&DS's growing portfolio of commercial printing customers. Troup County News now prints at Media General's Opelika, Ala., facility.
"We are excited to have been selected by Troup County News. We look forward to our partnership and to provide Troup County News with its future printing and packaging needs," said Bob Rogers, vice president of Operations for the Central Group of Media General O&DS.
Eddie and Judy Murphy, owners of Troup County News, stated, "We did our homework when searching for a new printer. We had previously been printing with the Columbus Ledger Enquirer commercial division, but situations arose that prompted us to move the printing part of our operation. After speaking with printing companies across Georgia and Alabama, we chose Media General's Opelika, Ala., operation for several reasons: the professional and courteous staff, the modern and state of the art equipment, and the friendly ‘want to please' attitude of the entire printing department."
In early 2009, Media General formed the Operations & Distribution Solutions Group to manage its production and distribution operations across all markets in order to maximize utilization of its production and distribution assets in the Southeast. Media General has 10 strategically located print facilities in the Southeast. In addition to printing its own newspapers, the company provides printing and delivery services for more than 125 other newspapers and specialty products.
