Richmond-based Media General Inc. said Wednesday that it is exploring the potential sale of newspaper operations.
The company said it had received inquiries from several third parties regarding the potential purchase of some of its print assets.
Media General said it could offer no assurances than any sale would take place, and it did not disclose which properties might be included.
It owns 23 daily newspapers, including the Richmond Times-Dispatch, The Tampa Tribune and the Winston-Salem Journal.
